South Carolina is known for its mysterious and outrageous ghost tales. But the large, white house in Summerville, South Carolina has brought to you the most terrifying story yet.
The White House
Ken and Ann had always dreamed of living in the large, fancy white house on Main Street. The couple wanted to make Summerville their permanent home, but little did they know, their dream house was haunted. The husband and wife got their wish, and finally got their dream home. It was built by the McNairs. The woman, Mrs. McNair, died in the house. Nobody knows if she died in the bed Ann and Ken sleep in, but it is very likely. After Mrs. McNair’s death, the house was briefly rented. Other than the house’s homey and decorative looks, it could be very frightening at times. Ann and Ken’s daughter, Sharon, was the first one that noticed the unusual event.
First Appearance of The Hand
Sharon called Ann into her room one night and told her that their was a man in her room. Ann thought it must have been a dream. Ann thought about what Sharon had said after Ken told her about the footsteps he heard that night. Ken went out into the hall to see a tall, dark figure. It was even more frightening whenever Ann’s mother, who lived in the upstairs apartment also stated that she saw the figure whenever she was sleeping and felt a sensation on her hand. She wakened to a man placing his large white hands on hers.
Ann's first Experience with The Ghost
A couple of nights later, Ann experienced a very frightening event. Her husband, and daughter were gone, and she went to take a shower. While she was in the shower, she heard her dog barking very loudly. She assumed the reason was that her husband was home, but later found out that it wasn’t. When she got out, she noticed that the dog was barking and looking under the bed. Her husband wasn’t home, so she called his work, only finding out that he had already left. Once he got home, they checked the house, but nothing was stolen.
More events happened to her, including the one where she was in the kitchen, and noticed the pantry door slowly opening then closing. She went to go open it and nothing was there.
The last, and most frightening event that happened to Ann was after she had went to bed one night. She had a feeling something was watching her, and when she opened her eyes she saw the dark figure, reaching his large, white hand towards her. She started screaming, and as she was, the figure vanished.
One afternoon, Ann’s mother, had seen the ghost in broad daylight! She thought it was a shadow, but looked again to see the dark figure of the man.
Call from a Past Renter
After all of the appearances of the ghost, people who had rented the house before started to call. One of the callers said that they heard about what the family had seen. While Ann was on the phone with the past renter, she asked the person to explain the figure he had seen while he was staying at the house. The past renter described the exact same ghost that Ann’s family was seeing!
A woman that had rented the house before, states that she, also saw the ghost appearances while her stay at the house.
